Kiel és una ciutat del nord d'Alemanya, capital de l'estat federat de Slesvig-Holstein. La seva població supera el 230.000 habitants.
La ciutat és un port a la mar Bàltica, situada al fons del fiord de Kiel. Des del 1860, ha estat la base naval més important del país. Als voltants de Kiel es troben les drassana|drassanes més importants d'Alemanya.
