Stuttgart: Guide
Stuttgart és la capital del Estat federat alemany|Land Alemanya|alemany de Baden-Württemberg, a la porta de la Selva negra. Té una població d'uns 600.000 habitants (maig 2005) i una superfície de 207 km².
Daimler Chrysler i Porsche tenen les seves centrals als afores del nucli urbà.
Gottlieb Daimler i Wilhelm Maybach van construir a Stuttgart el seu primer motor a combustió interna, que sumat a la bugia de Robert Bosch (nascut a Stuttgart) va donar naixement a la indústria de l'automòbil a Alemanya.
Organització político-administrativa
La ciutat de Stuttgart està dividida en 23 Bezirke (districtes municipals), els que comprenen a la seva vegada 141 Stadtteile (barrio). Els districtes són:
1. Stuttgart-Mitte
El Palau Nou (Neues Schloss) i el Castell Antic (Altes Schloss) situats a la Plaça del Palau (Schlossplatz).
Cal destacat el projecte Stuttgart 21, que preveu transformar l'estació central de trens per un passatge subterrani per així millorar la connexió amb la xarxa de tramvies. Amb tot això es recuperen cent hectàrees al cor de la ciutat on es planteja construir edificis d'avantguarda.
