Noyon: Guide


Noyon és un poble del departament de l'Oise, a la Picardia (nord de França).

El municipi té 18 km², una alçada mitjana de 52 m sobre el nivell del mar i uns 15.000 habitants. El seu codi postal és 60400.

Història


Habitat originàriament per tribus gal·les, fou el lloc on Carlemany fou coronat com a rei dels francs l'any 768.

El 1509 hi nasqué el reformador Joan Calví.

Ocupada pels alemanys tant durant la Primera Guerra Mundial|Primera com la Segona Guerra Mundial, la ciutat patí forts desperfectes, i hagué de ser reconstruïda. Conserva la catedral art gòtic|gòtica de Notre-Dame, dels segles XII-XIII.
