Budapest: Guide
Budapest és la capital d'Hongria. Té una superfície de 525 km². El seu punt més alt es troba a János Hegy o Mont de Joan, a uns 529 metres sobre el nivell del mar. Compta amb gairebé dos milions d'habitants. Va ser fundada el 17 de novembre 1873 per la unió de tres ciutats, dues a l'oest del Danubi: Buda i Óbuda i una altra a l'est: Pest. Va ser en aquesta ciutat que es va construir la primera línia de metro d'Europa continental, és a dir, exceptuant-ne la de Londres. Administrativament es divideix en 23 districtes. Té una població de 1,7 milions d'habitants. És la sisena ciutat més gran de la Unió Europea.
