Aquest article és sobre la capital escocesa, però Edinburgh (EUA) també és el nom d'una poblacio d'Indiana, als Estats Units d'Amèrica

Edimburg (Edinburgh en anglès, Dùn Éideann en gaèlic), és la capital d'Escòcia, i la segona ciutat en població del país.
Edimburg és situada a l'Est d'Escòcia, a la ribera sud del Forth, al costat d
El castell d'Edimburg és situat sobre una roca que domina la ciutat, essent una de les vistes mes característiques de la ciutat. La Royal Mile és el carrer que baixa des del castell fins al palau de Holyroodhouse, la residència de la reina a Edimburg. Prop del palau, hi ha el parlament d'Escòcia, dissenyat pel català Enric Miralles. Entre el castell i Princes Street (la principal avinguda comercial), hi ha una gran zona ajardinada (Prince's Street Gardens), ocupant el lloc d'un antic llac que es va dessecar. Més al Nord, hi ha la New Town, o ciutat nova, que es va desenvolupar a finals del segle XVIII. Calton Hill i Arthur's Seat permeten de gaudir de vistes excel·lents de la ciutat.
Edinburgh també és coneguda pel festival de teatre que té lloc cada agost, i pel Hogmanay, una de les celebracions de cap d'any mes importants del món.
